The School of Roses

There is not much information regarding this (mostly) abandoned "efterskolen" in Denmark. An efterskole (literally "afterschool") is a unique type of Danish voluntary independent residential school for young people between the age of 14 to 18. At an efterskole, students can choose to spend one, two or three years finishing their primary education.

This school in a village only a few kilometers north of the 1920 Danish-German border, was one of the afterschools that the Sønderjydsk School Association had a large part in

establishing. The school was founded in 1921 and has a very beautiful main building in the "Bedre Byggeskik" style. The school closed in 2012. Parts of the premises are being used by a catering service.
