When this abandoned "adventure and fun pool" was opened in 1993, it was the first in the new federal states after the German reunification. The costs are estimated at 36 million marks at the time.
Visitors came from all corners and spent happy hours here. Then new, more modern baths were built in the area.
At the end of 2003 the operator had to file for bankruptcy. The commercial property went into private hands, but did not bring any profit.
For a long time, the pool was operated in "sleep mode" to save operating
costs. 2008 a new start was made, but this was also unsuccessful. In 2009 the facility was closed down completely. The city also had to pay off ongoing loans for the pool until 2018. The place has been abandoned for a long time now and the vandalism is getting worse.
