Neurosurgical Clinic K.

The complex was built around 1900 and during WWII was used as a military hospital for the navy in Kiel. After the war, the buildings were used by the university, whose buildings had been partially destroyed during the war. For example, the Department of Neurosurgery was relocated into the old hospital.
In 1988, the hospital was closed down.
The photos you sere here are from several explorations over the course of about one year.
UPDATE [April 8, 2015]: The hospital complex has been torn down. All buildings have been demolished for investors to be able to develop the area with
Neurosurgical Clinic K.

living apartments and artist's studios. The building with the large lecture room has been spared - although it is the most derelict building in the ensemble, it will be renovated and is supposed to be reminiscent of the original character of the quarter.
